PROSPECT SUMMARY – MIKE HAMPTON
Starting 33 career games at South Florida, Hampton is an experienced player at the position. A slight frame and one that lacks mass overall, a lot of areas that he will need to improve revolve around gaining strength. Inconsistent with his footwork at the line of scrimmage, Hampton is most confident when allowed to play off-man coverage. Mirroring movements at the line, he was successful with staying in front and attacking underneath areas. Needing to gain weight and lacking a severe amount of density, he could prove to be a player that begins his career on some team's practice squad for an extended period of time.
Ideal Role: Developmental depth at nickel corner that needs to continue to gain muscle mass.
Scheme Fit: Cover 1 press or off-man scheme.
