Darius Anderson

  • Class Senior
  • HT 5'11"
  • DOB --
  • WT 195 lbs

PROS: Highly competitive runner that maximizes his touches and battles for every inch. Feet move like they are on fire. Slippery with plenty of wiggle to break free of tackle attempts and he has some notable power in his legs. Good contact balance and he is unfazed by lazy tackle attempts. Love his acceleration to and through the hole. Low mileage entering the league but has been used as a receiver and returner, offering a versatile skill set. He’s creative when he gets loose in space and he has some natural instincts about him.

CONS: Questionable vision and process attacking the line of scrimmage. He goes off-script in a hurry and doesn’t do much to manipulate the second level when pressing the line or making his blocks right. Was a committee back in college with modest production. Consistency in pass protection isn’t there.

BEST TRAIT - Burst and Balance

WORST TRAIT - Vision and Process

    RED FLAGS - None

TCU running back Darius Anderson is a fun player to watch on tape given his burst, creativity, physicality and competitive nature. When harnessed correctly, those traits give him plenty of playmaking potential. With that said, his process as a runner is quite underdeveloped and he’ll need to develop the right technique for pressing the line of scrimmage, reading the defense and understanding run game principles. As it stands, he presents some upside as a receiver and touches in space but he needs plenty of work. He’s a depth piece but one with an intriguing ceiling.
